A Look at Books is for everyone who loves books! It's for you to share with others the best books you have ever read. And for you to discover the best books you haven't yet read. We want you to share with us the books that made you think, cry or laugh, made you act or changed your life. The books you couldn't stop reading before bed and when you fell asleep with the book on your lap you dreamt about these books. One of the best books I've ever read is by T.C. Boyle -"Tortilla Curtain" - I actually started praying for the characters in the book!!!

When I discover a great book, I buy copies for many of my friends and family and they do the same for me. When I discover a great book, I search for and very often read all the other books that this author has written.

A Look at Books is not here for you to enter all the books you've read. We want to hear about the best, the very best books you have ever read. Share them with us, share them with others. Discover books here that you wouldn't have found scanning titles at the bookstore or the library.

I am a binge reader - I go for a year, sometimes two, without reading a single book. Then one day I find myself in a bookstore and suddenly see a whole bunch of books that I want to read. I am happy, and quickly devour all the books that have caught my eye.

When I am done I return to the store with the thought "I need another book" - but where do I start - I often think "I want to read another book like --- but which one." I know they are out there, but I don't know where to start. My frustration grows as I peruse books but can't quite seem to find one that fits my desires. I leave empty handed and disappointed. The cycle starts again.

My thoughts in creating this site is that with the input of other readers like you it will provide me with all the information I need to find another good book and finally cure me of my awful affliction. Thus allowing me to lead a normal, healthy life as an avid, continual reader.
